What Readers Are Saying

Humerous

"It will make you cry and make you remember how irresponsible you were in your teenage years. From issues of race, family, and just having a good time creating mischief, it will put a smile on your face and make you feel like you’re a teenager all over again."

Wayne Perryman, Author and President of Humanity Diversity LLC

Motivational

“The book is inspirational for readers of all ages and circumstances. These guys show persistence, guts, determination, and the power of the group. I laughed out loud as I was drawn into their hilarious antics.”

Jim Bender, Professional Comedian

Encouraging

“The story unfolds in the streets of Seattle and illustrates how humor and resourcefulness enabled these twelve racially diverse guys to overcame adversity and crime and propel themselves to success.”

George Duff, President Emeritus, Seattle Chamber of Commerce

Inspiring

"In many respects it’s a modern-day Huckleberry Finn story.  It is hilarious in places and a delightfully moving account of friendships and the power to overcome a host of obstacles to become men of accomplishment and distinction.”

Bud Palmberg, Retired Pastor

"It’s a miracle I lived through it. Within fifty yards of home, complete strangers tried to kill me. And for no reason. Not unusual in Seattle’s projects where I lived."

Close notice

“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”
